Cucumber Bites with Essential Oils | Essential Homestead

Do you love cooking with essential oils? If so, give these refreshing cucumber bites a try!

These fresh dilly cucumber bites make a great healthy appetizer or snack.   They come together quickly, making them perfect for entertaining. Beautifully colored, taste great and still have essential nutrients. A standout dish for a party, placed strategically next to a meat side dish, it is quite refreshing.

In the kitchen, Dill’s sweet savor can be used in a variety of dishes to improve the taste of salads, potatoes, fish, curry, vegetables, and rice. Doterra dill oil can also be used internally to support digestion and overall gastrointestinal health. Dill’s powerful internal benefits can help purify the body’s systems. When used aromatically, Dill emits a fresh, grassy scent that can help lessen stress and anxious feelings.  Dill oil provides important antioxidants. Antioxidants are essential for the body because they inhibit oxidization. Dill oil can also be used when canning vegetables.  Add dill oil to the jar before sealing the lid.  Dill essential oil will help preserve.

Fun Fact:  The word “dill” comes from the Norse word “dilla” meaning “to lull.” This has reference to dill’s soothing benefits.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp package cream cheese softened
  • 1 tbsp bell pepper finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp chives
  • 1 tsp dill or 2 drops dill essential oil
  • 1 cucumber 
  • Parsley and black pepper

Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, pepper, chives, and dill. Mix well and set aside.
Cut the cucumbers lengthwise, remove the seeds and fill each cucumber half with your mixture.
Then cut again in 1″ chunks.

Top with parsley and black pepper (optional)
