DIY Nature Crafts for Kids

Do you love the outdoors like we do?  Then you’ll enjoy these DIY Nature Crafts for Kids.

It’s almost that time again.  Back to school with the kiddos.  My family chooses to homeschool, at least for now.  So we are starting school after Labor Day.  One of the perks to homeschooling, choosing when to start and stop.  If we start too early in August we finish every lesson in the book before May so I let our kids enjoy as much warm weather as possible.  I’ve been asking my fellow homesteading families to give me some ideas on DIY nature crafts they enjoy doing with their kids.  I plan to incorporate some of these into our school year.
DIY Nature Crafts

1 – Leaf Printing on a T-shirt by Live the Old Way.  They demonstrate how you can screen print a t-shirt from nature.  How cool!

2 – Growing Mushrooms with Kids by Practical Self Reliance.  This is a great hands on project to teach the animal and plant kingdom.

3 – Cane Pole Whistles by Live the Old Way.  Kids will be fascinated when they can make their own whistles.
DIY Nature Crafts
4 – Activities for Kids by 104 Homestead.  Learn ways to make a bird feeder, make tree art and more.
DIY Nature Crafts
5 – Acorn Cap Whistle by Live the Old Way.  How neat is it to be able to pick up an acorn cap and turn it into a whistle.  Love her demonstration video.
DIY Nature Crafts
6 – Making Soap without Lye by Healing Harvest Homestead.  By using pre made soap blocks its easy to experiment with different additives and scents.  Kids will love making their own soap experiments.  Let them add some flowers, herbs, honey or other things from nature.

7. Rock painting also seems to be all the rage lately.  I recently did some rock painting at a retreat.  I’m curious to see what my kiddos can do with rock painting.

It's a great idea. I wanna surprised my kids, I think this nature crafts idea can be the best option. I love DIY work and I have some an experience so I wanna make it with my own hand.
