How to Set Up Total Gym Fit

How to Set Up Total Gym Fit

Total Gym Fit is a versatile piece of fitness machinery designed to meet your cardio, resistance, and strength training needs. Suitable for all fitness levels, whether you are a workout novice or have been hitting the gym six days a week for years, Total Gym Fit can meet your fitness needs. Once you’ve decided that this is the fitness machine for you and you finally get it in your home, you may be surprised that though it comes assembled, there is some work to be done in order to set it up for use.

If you have never set up a fitness machine before, it can feel a bit daunting. Luckily, Total Gym Fit is designed to be user-friendly when it comes to set-up. You just need to follow a few simple steps, and then you will be on your way to reaching your fitness goals.

Unfold Your Total Gym Fit

Straight out of the box, the Total Gym Fit is folded like an accordion. Not only does it help with shipping the product to your home, but it also makes it convenient for storage. The Total Gym Fit can be stored upright in spaces like a closet or a pantry. It can also be stored flat, like underneath a bed or a couch. When you decide you want to use it, you simply unfold the machine in an open space.

Before unfolding your Total Gym Fit, take precautions by taking the handles off the machine and placing them over the arms. Now you’ll be sure that they won’t get caught as you’re unfolding the machine and lowering it to the ground.

  1. Take the black pin below the arm and pull it out.
  2. Reach up to the top of the column and pull it out away from the rails.
  3. Slowly roll the rollers away from the glide board.

Make sure that while the machine is beginning to flatten out, you put yourself in the position to guide the rails to the ground safely.

Once the machine is fully unfolded and flat on the ground, make sure that the black pin you pulled out earlier is snapped back and flush in place. You should hear a clicking sound to ensure it’s secure. You will also be able to see the tip of the pin sticking out of the opposite side. Now you can remove the handles from the arms and rest them on the ground.

Move the Rails

Now that your Total Gym Fit is unfolded and secure with the black spring-loaded pin set back in place, it is time to move the rails up the column on the machine.

  1. Take the yellow pin and pull it out.
  2. Place a foot on the base of the column.
  3. Move rails up to the desired level.

Make sure that you are keeping your foot on the base of the column while you move the rails to ensure the rest of the machine stays flush to the ground. Once you have brought the rails up to your desired level, snap the yellow pin back in place. Again, you should hear a clicking sound; that way, you know it’s secure.

Now take your safety hitch pin and place it on the opposite side of the column at the same level as your yellow pin. This is added security for your safety.

Make Some Adjustments

Anytime you want to adjust the height of your Total Gym Fit, all you need to do is remove the safety hitch pin and follow the above steps under ‘Move the Rails.’ Remember to always keep your foot on the base of the column each time you adjust the rails up or down.

Once you’ve followed the steps above, you can snap the yellow pin back in place and then insert the safety hitch pin on the opposite side of the column on the same level as your yellow pin.

Even if you leave your Total Gym Fit set up in a designated spot, always check that both the yellow pin and the safety hitch pin are securely in place before you begin your exercise.

Conclusion

Now that your Total Gym Fit is fully set up and you know how to make adjustments whenever needed, all that is left for you to do is to test out your machine and start your Total Gym Fit fitness journey. If there are any issues or you’re feeling any discomfort, review the above steps for accuracy and then make customizations as needed.
