These are the 5 Biggest RV Shows in the US Each Year (And Why You Should Go)!

Hey fam, Dane here from the Double Decker Fam! If you know us, you know we’re passionate about squeezing the most adventure out of every mile we drive in our big Double Decker RV (seriously, it’s a showstopper at every campground). As a family of 8 – yes, you read that right, SIX kids! – we know how important it is to stay updated on the latest RV trends, cool gadgets, and new models that fit a crowd like ours.

If you’ve ever thought about attending an RV show but weren’t sure if it was worth it, you are in the right place. RV shows are more than rows of shiny rigs and free tote bags (though we LOVE those, let’s be real). They’re a chance for families, dreamers, and road warriors to explore new rigs, discover adventure gear, get sweet deals on accessories, and learn from experts. Plus, you can connect with other RVers… and let your kids climb into every bunk-bed model on display!

After a ton of research and some firsthand adventures, here’s our guide to the 5 biggest RV shows in the United States each year, why you should absolutely go, and a few pro tips for making the most of your visit.

1. Hershey America’s Largest RV Show (Pennsylvania)

When: Every September
Where: Hershey, PA
Website: Hershey RV Show

If there’s one RV show that EVERYONE talks about, it’s the one in Hershey. Called “America’s Largest RV Show,” Hershey pulls in over 40,000 visitors and features more than 1,400 new RVs each year. From Class A motorhomes the size of school buses to tiny teardrop trailers – everything’s here.

Why you should go:
Trying Before You Buy: You and your kids can climb into hundreds of RVs, try the furniture, check out the storage, and ask a zillion questions (no sales pressure).
Factory-Reps Galore: Meet the people who actually build these homes on wheels! We got to ask a rep how they fit 8 beds in a not-so-big trailer—she was shocked when we told her our family story.
Family Friendly: Hershey the town is known for chocolate (hello, Hersheypark), so you know there’s no shortage of sweets, activities, and fun for kids nearby.

Pro Tip: Download the map before you go – this place is HUGE, and with six kids, trust me, you’ll want a plan of attack!

2. Florida RV SuperShow (Tampa)

When: Every January
Where: Tampa, FL
Website: Florida RV SuperShow

The Florida RV SuperShow is my personal favorite for a mid-winter break. While snow’s blowing across most of America, you’ll be in shorts and sandals walking miles of RVs. The Tampa show boasts more than 450 vendor booths and the biggest selection of RV brands in one spot.

Why you should go:
Workshops and Seminars: Attend talks on RV maintenance, boondocking, tech upgrades, full-timing, and family travel hacks.
Kid Vibe: Clowns, face painting, food trucks, and buskers—your crew will be entertained between rigs.
Sunshine Networking: Meet other traveling families, swap stories, and gather tips for Florida destinations.

We’ve found some of our favorite off-the-grid gadgets at this show (and scored discounts you won’t see anywhere else). If you follow us on Instagram, you might have spotted the epic “RV parade” we filmed here last year!

3. Quartzsite Sports, Vacation & RV Show (Arizona)

When: Every January
Where: Quartzsite, AZ
Website: Quartzsite RV Show

Quartzsite isn’t just an RV show—it’s a whole RV town! For a couple weeks every year, this tiny Arizona desert town transforms into a hub of RVs, campers, snowbirds, adventurers and vendors from all over the country.

Why you should go:
Epic Community: In addition to browsing rigs and gear, you’ll join up to 150,000+ RVers camping together in the desert. The sense of community is unreal!
Desert Boondocking: If you’ve never “boondocked” (camped off-grid without hookups), there’s no better place for newbies. The BLM land is free, open, and wild—perfect for kids to run and play.
Wild Vendor Village: Beyond RVs, Quartzsite’s swap meets sell everything from solar panels to homemade jewelry to funnel cakes. You never quite know what you’ll find!

Pro Tip: Stock up on water and groceries before you head in—the desert spot is beautiful but rustic!

4. The California RV Show (Pomona)

When: Every October
Where: Pomona, CA
Website: California RV Show

The California RV Show has been a west coast staple for over 60 years—and after taking a break, it’s back and bigger than ever. If you live out west (or just want to escape pumpkin spice overload for palm trees and campers), this is your event.

Why you should go:
Hollywood Flare: California RV Show pulls all the stops with glitzy displays, celebrity meet-and-greets, and even live music.
Latest Tech: Silicon Valley is just up the road and you’ll see the newest smart home RV features here before anybody else.
Family Fun: There’s a dedicated kids’ zone with crafts, games, and activities to keep young ones busy while you compare RV specs.

We loved chatting with builders about solar upgrades and modular furniture for big families here – so many creative ideas!

5. Elkhart RV Open House Expo (Indiana)

When: Every September
Where: Elkhart, IN (invite-only for dealers/media, but surrounding events are open to public)
Website: RV Business: Elkhart Open House Coverage

Ok, time for a little insider knowledge—Elkhart is where over 80% of all RVs in America are built. The Open House is the big launch party for new models, so it’s huge for the industry. Technically, it’s invite-only, but every September loads of public pop-up events, preview parties, and factory tours spring up around town.

Why you should go:
Factory Tours: See how RVs are built from start to finish (mind-blowing for kids and adults alike).
Behind the Scenes: Talk directly with engineers, designers and craftspeople, get access/insight you can’t get anywhere else.
New Model Launches: Catch a glimpse of next year’s trends before they hit the road.

If you’ve ever wondered how our big Double Decker was built, or what goes into designing RV interiors for large families – THIS is the place to satisfy your curiosity.

Why Should Families Hit Up An RV Show?

Attending a major RV show is probably the best way to answer all the “what ifs” you have about RV life. Here’s a few reasons we make the effort to hit at least one big event each year:

  • Hands-on Experience: Walk through dozens (ok, hundreds) of rigs in one place – bring your checklist!
  • Exclusive Deals: Show specials can save you thousands on a purchase, and vendors often throw in freebies.
  • Education: Get expert advice on maintenance, safety, full-timing, homeschooling on the road, and more.
  • Connection: Find your tribe! Connect with other parents, full-timers, and big family RVers (like us!) to share tips and stories.
  • One-Stop Comparison Shopping: No need to visit dealer after dealer—see it ALL at a show and make lists for your next move.

Tips for Making the Most of RV Shows with Kids

As a family of 8, we’ve learned a few things (ok, maybe a lot of things) about RV show survival with kiddos in tow:

  • Pack snacks and water – food lines are long and little tummies get hangry fast.
  • Create a “buddy system” for the kids so no one wanders off among all the excitement.
  • Make a plan: Choose your must-see rigs and events ahead of time. Leave room for discovery, but avoid backtracking across acres of RV lots.
  • Stroller or Wagon: Even big kids tire out after 10,000 steps – bring wheels if you can!
  • Keep it fun: Let the kids pick a few rigs to explore, check out the entertainment zones, and share your excitement about the adventures ahead.

We’re planning to roll up to a couple of these this year—if you see a giant Double Decker RV full of happy (sometimes wild) kids, come say hi!
