What is an Aroma Inhaler? | Essential Homestead

So what exactly is an aroma inhaler and why use it?

aroma inhaler
An aromatherapy inhaler is a great way to take essential oils with you on the go.  You can’t take a diffuser everywhere but an inhaler fits in your pocket.  It’s also a great way to use essential oils at the office, school or closed space if others don’t like the aroma.  And especially useful in a car, train, plane or any source of transportation.
The inhaler is about the size of lip balm.
To use:  Place 5-10 drops of essential oil on the cotton.  Put the inhaler about 1/2 inch below your nostril and inhale slowly while counting to 5.  Repeat several times on each nostril.   Never place the inhaler inside the nose.
The essential oil molecules will be absorbed into the lungs then circulated throughout the blood stream.
Any diffuser recipe can be used in an inhaler.  So recipes for energy, immune, respiratory, concentration and much more can be used successfully in an inhaler.
Here’s a few of my favorite recipes:
Seasonal Discomfort:   3 drops Lemon, 3 drops Lavender, 3 drops Peppermint essential oil
Queasy Traveler:   5-10 drops Peppermint essential oil
Breathe easy:  5-10 drops doTERRA Breathe blend
Concentration:  5-10 drops doTERRA Intune blend
Calm Me Down:  5-10 drops doTERRA Serenity blend
Your essential oils will keep the inhaler smelling strong for several weeks.  To refill, simply pop the plug and add more oils, easy peasy!
