Why Won’t My Dyson Corrale Charge?

Why Won’t My Dyson Corrale Charge?

Having a Dyson Corrale is like having your own personal stylist in your bathroom. Suitable for all hair types, this product allows you to straighten your hair effortlessly. However, if it doesn’t charge, any day can turn into a bad hair day.

A Dyson Corrale may not charge if there’s something wrong with the charging cable, like if it suffered water damage or tore open. The issue could also lie with the power outlet. If neither of these issues is the root of the problem, users could file a warranty claim or get a new charger.

Typically, a Dyson Corrale won’t charge for a few reasons. Some of these are:

  1. The outlet is not working and may need to be reset or replaced.
  2. The Corrale’s charging cord is damaged and may need to be replaced.
  3. Something is on the charging stand’s magnet causing interference.
  4. The internal charging component has become damaged.

Keep reading to learn more about what to do if your Dyson Corrale stops charging. Depending on the source of your problem, you could have more than one solution.

Reasons Why Your Dyson Corrale Won’t Charge

The reasons why your device won’t charge will depend on a lot of things. For instance, how long have you owned the device? Did it suffer from water damage or improper storage?

Below are a few common reasons why your Dyson Corrale may not charge:

Your Outlet Isn’t Working

Your Dyson Corrale needs a steady stream of electricity to charge. According to the user manual, you will need to charge it for 70 minutes before using it. If your outlet isn’t working, try the following:

  • Reset the breaker in your home’s fuse box.
  • Plug your device into another outlet.
  • Make sure that you are inserting the charger’s prongs all the way into the ports.

If sparks come out of the outlet or it starts smoking, unplug your device immediately.

The Charging Cord Is Damaged

Your Dyson Corrale is designed to last you for a few years. However, with use, its cord can get bent, frayed, or split open. Per the user manual, if there is any noticeable damage to your charging cord, you shouldn’t use it. This is for your own safety.

You can buy a replacement charging stand online through Dyson. If you just recently bought your product and ran into this problem, you could file a warranty claim to have the component replaced or repaired.

There Is Something on the Charging Stand’s Magnet

With traditional hair straighteners, you can usually just plug them straight into the wall and get started. The Dyson Corrale is different because it is cordless after removing the device from its 360 magnetic charging stand.

Your Dyson Corrale’s charger uses a magnet to hold the straightener in place. However, if there is any dust, dirt, condensation, or makeup on the magnetic, this could impede the device’s ability to charge.

You can wipe down the magnet using a damp paper towel. Do not get it too wet, as this could damage your product further.

Its Internal Charging Component Is Damaged

Inside the Dyson Corrale is a battery that holds a charge for about 30 minutes. If there is something wrong with how the charger connects to the battery, the flow of electricity, or the battery itself, this could prevent your device from charging.

If this happened in your case, it is unlikely that you could fix it yourself. This would require in-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering and circuit boards. You do not have to run out and spend money on a new device, though. Depending on where you live, you could bring your product to a Dyson service center.

Otherwise, you could ship it to Dyson for service (although you may need to pay for shipping and repair costs). You can find a list of service locations here.
