Look at the World Around Us | Essential Homestead

look at the world
It’s been on my heart lately to post about giving the body what it needs to help it heal itself. Let’s take a look at the world around us and what it has to offer for our health.
Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.
God wants us to care for our bodies just like we want the best for our children.  When we have a baby, we care for the infant, having the desire to give them the best nutrition.  As they grow into children, we try to give them fruits, veggies and other healthy foods.  We want them to eat healthy and make good choices.  I believe God wants that for us, His children, as well.  He provides so much in the world to help us stay healthy.  I’m not perfect, but I have learned and researched a lot the past decade concerning what my family and I are putting in and on our body.   It hurts my heart when I see someone ill yet not understanding what they choose to take into their body is contributing to the illness.  Most doctors don’t mention nutrition or anything natural.  Pills or invasive treatment is usually the only given solution.
Do we want our children to be proactive as adults, make healthy choices and be educated when it comes to their choices?  Yes, of course, so how much more does our heavenly father want us to to care for the body he gave us.
For you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.  1 Corinthians 6:20
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.  1 Corinthians 3:16-17
For those that have accepted Jesus as their Savior, we believe God’s Spirit dwells in us.  Our body is the temple, yet so many of us don’t treat that temple well (me included, but I’m working on it).   I believe, if we ask for wisdom on how to treat our temples, God will provide.  He will guide any believer to the truth.   If we look around at the world He created, we may be surprised at all of the resources He provided for our bodies. 🙂 I’m a big believer in a diet rich in God food. What does that mean? Food in a natural state; free of pesticides, herbicides, hormones, antibiotics, preservatives and more. These man made ingredients are created for profit, not for health. Over time they can and are destroying the health of many people.

This is so true! I see people's grocery buggies and just cringe at the things they're stuffing in their bodies.
